B Vitamins from GSE:
Underrated Helpers for Nerves, Skin, Muscles & More
Relaxed and Beautiful Through Life with B Vitamins
The B vitamin family is a true jack-of-all-trades. For example, almost all B vitamins are involved in maintaining mental, cognitive, and physical performance – for instance, by promoting energy production from food. Some B vitamins also contribute to the maintenance of normal skin, mucous membranes, and hair, as well as to a balanced hormone metabolism (see Health Claims below).
Vitamin B12 is a particularly versatile all-rounder, playing a role in numerous bodily functions from cell division and blood formation to the immune system and energy metabolism. Those who want to get a good supply of B vitamins through their diet should consume whole grain and dairy products, yeast, legumes, nuts, meat, and fish daily. Some fruits, vegetables, and herbs are also quite good sources of various B vitamins. The rare vitamin B12, apart from meat, is found in some algae... but who in this country regularly consumes algae?
Those who absolutely dislike whole grains and vegetables or have to forego important vitamin B sources due to intolerances, vegan diets, etc., can resort to a good food supplement. For example, Vitamin B Complex and Vitamin B12 Compact from GSE are purely plant-based and excellently tolerated.
The Alternative Names of B Vitamins
Each B vitamin has both a number and an alternative name. The most well-known of these are probably "hair vitamin" biotin (vitamin B7) and "pregnancy vitamin" folic acid (vitamin B9).
- Vitamin B1 = Thiamine
- Vitamin B2 = Riboflavin
- Vitamin B3 = Niacin
- Vitamin B5 = Pantothenic acid
- Vitamin B6 = Pyridoxine
- Vitamin B7 = Biotin
- Vitamin B9 = Folic Acid/Folate
- Vitamin B12 = Cobalamin
Attentive readers will surely have noticed that some numbers are missing from this list. This is because, according to newer findings, some substances previously also referred to as B vitamins could not be confirmed in their "vitaminic" structure. Therefore, the following have disappeared by name from the B vitamin range:
- Choline (formerly Vitamin B4)
- Inositol (formerly Vitamin B8)
- PABA (formerly Vitamin B10)
- Orotic Acid (formerly Vitamin B13)
100% Plant-Based B Vitamins Directly from Nature
In accordance with its company philosophy, GSE exclusively processes natural, non-animal raw materials in its Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin B12 Compact, Folic Acid Compact and Biotin Compact. As sources, we have included, for example, guava, mango, basil, and lemon peel extracts, shiitake mushrooms, sunflower seeds, and the microalga chlorella. In combination preparations such as Women's Vital Complex, Skin, Hair & Nails Complex, among others, spirulina algae and extracts from yeast or adzuki beans can also demonstrate their B vitamin power.
All B vitamin-rich plants, fruits, mushrooms, and algae for our food supplements come from strictly controlled organic cultivation and are processed into tablets in Germany. The products are vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, and soy-free, making them expressly suitable for vegetarians and vegans.EFSA* Health Claims for B Vitamins:
